Run by our summer Senior in Residence Emmett Flood, this four-part workshop will guide you in creating a “living memoir” - helping you document and capture the important moments of your life in the form of a physical, adaptable memoir.
The focus of this workshop is on learning the different skills needed for record keeping in a meaningful, continuous method - including introspection, curation, and long-term commitment techniques. This workshop will be taught through mediums like writing and sketching, but can be customized to best suit each participant. The goal is for participants to create a memoir that grows alongside them, that they can return to over the coming years. Whether you’re looking for a new project, an avid scrap-booker looking to deepen your practice, or a parent hoping to share a piece of yourself with future generations - this workshop is for you.
Runs in four weekly sessions every Friday in September, 6:30pm-9pm.
Registration required, $10 per person.
Our Senior in Residence programs are made possible by the New Horizons for Seniors Program from the Government of Canada which grants funding for projects that make a difference in the lives of seniors and their communities. Emmett Flood is a retired high school teacher who’s deeply dedicated to the work of reflection and introspection. He believes there is skill in curating our lives, and that we can all benefit from being able to recognize and preserve our cherished moments.
