HERITAGE RESIDENCIES

Heritage Residencies is an ongoing programme that invites heritage makers from various fields and professions to create projects and activities in collaboration with Coquitlam Heritage. The programme’s purpose is to reflect the diversity and abilities of heritage makers in our community, providing them with a platform to research, develop new work, and host workshops. Heritage makers range from but are not limited to bakers and chefs, artists, musicians, storytellers, gardeners and more.

Senior in Residence: Intergenerational Sharing Project

Coquitlam Heritage invites all senior residents living in the Coquitlam area to apply to our Intergenerational Sharing Project for 2025/2026.

Do you have unique skills, trades, or talents that demonstrate the heritage and history of your community and background? If selected, you will be supported by museum staff to share your knowledge through presentations, workshops, and/or exhibits.

This opportunity is only open to seniors aged 55+ who reside in Coquitlam. No prior experience is necessary.

Our aim:

To connect seniors with other generations as a means of passing on the skills and ideas that they have gained throughout their lives. Seniors play a vital role in our local community as knowledge keepers, and this program will allow for this knowledge to be shared and preserved with the younger generation.

Your presentation, workshops, and/or exhibits can range from but are not limited to art, culinary practices, hobby workshops, wood working, cultural presentations and practices, sharing your background, and so on.
