May’s book is Scarborough by Catherine Hernandez. The novel tells the stories of a group of characters living in the east Toronto neighborhood. From a Black artist being harassed by the police, to struggling restaurant owners and school workers, and kids working to keep afloat in the system, Scarborough offers a glimpse into the community and neighborhood.
